In big cities like Tokyo, Osaka, and Nagoya, you’ll find several nightclubs hosting events with international DJs, and costume contests with huge prizes. No matter where in Japan you find yourself this scary season though, there’s always somewhere to get in the Halloween spirit.

One of the wildest Halloween parties in Tokyo will be held at Womb again in collaboration with the premium liqueur brand, Cocarello. New York-based DJ Bill Patrick will make his first appearance at the Shibuya nightclub this year! If you’ve never danced underneath Womb’s disco ball, you haven’t lived. A good time any night, we can only imagine how hype it will be during Halloween.

If you reeaally like dressing up for Halloween, or like seeing people in elaborate fetish gear and victorian gothic wear, this is the event for you. Tokyo Decadance is celebrating its 14th anniversary this year and has plans to be crazier and sexier than ever. The flashier your costume is, the bigger the discount you get on the admission price, so come dressed to impress. These partiers will put your Don Quijote costume to shame.

Come dressed in your scariest (or sexiest) outfit for your chance to win up to ¥500,000 worth of luxury prizes! The party lasts over three days, giving you plenty of opportunities to party with sexy dancers, DJs, and festive drink specials. The costume contest will be held nightly between 10 p.m. and 11 p.m. but get there before 9 p.m. for discounted entry—only ¥2,000 for men and ¥1,000 for women plus a free drink. Ladies get in free after midnight!

If Goth, Horror, EBM, or Dark Techno is your thing, you’re gonna love this Osaka event. Enjoy some of the creepiest DJs pumping their tunes through the night, including guest DJs Doom Spider and Gore Scorpio. Plus it’s co-hosted by Osaka’s infamous occult shop, Territory. Now if that doesn’t scream Halloween, we don’t know what does. This one has a very strict dress code so make sure you’re dressed up in your scariest Halloween costume or else.

On and On Halloween Disco

Osaka

The beat goes on and on at this Halloween disco night with all your favorite 70s boogie-night tunes. In addition to luxury prizes for the best dressed, there’s also discounted entry for men, and free entry for women who are dressed head to toe in costume. If you aren’t feeling too creative, just get your makeup done at the free face-painting booth inside.

Mexigan Halloween Party

Nagoya

Celebrate Halloween with plenty of tequila and Coronas at Bar Mexigan in Nagoya. Their Halloween party will be held over three days in October—on Halloween day and the weekend closest to it. Unlike some of the others, this party is super casual, so no sweat about getting elaborately dressed up. Just come and enjoy the drinks and vibes.

Sapporo

While most clubs have a costume contest, this nightclub in the far north is upping the ante with prizes totaling ¥1 million including plane tickets for travel in Japan and beyond!
