Explosion
Revel in music, dancing, drag, and good times at Osaka’s most explosive gay club.
Osaka at night is known for revelry, excess and debauchery, but most of all, carefree fun. But few places offer all these under the same roof quite the way Explosion does. This gay club is open to anyone looking to have a wild night out with a diverse group of people from buff shirtless men to spectacular drag queens. Everyone is welcome to join in at this crazy, flashy club!
Explosion is a well-established bar and club in Doyamacho, a popular nightlife and LGBT district in downtown Osaka. With an interior as bright and inviting as a fruity candy, the club’s vibrant atmosphere and sparkly dance floor invite guests to have nothing but the best time dancing and drinking all night long.
The club’s philosophy is to be friendly and open to all. Unlike many of the smaller, older Osaka LGBT institutions in the area, Explosion is not at all exclusive. Anyone and everyone open enough to party at such a place is welcome. Though there are occasionally “Men Only” nights, women and straight men frequent it, as well.
Even a weeknight at Explosion is worth a trip. Though the atmosphere is generally a lot more subdued, the venue becomes more of a bar than a club. Still, the drinks are served until late, and it’s a perfect place to meet fellow LGBT people.
Global Kiss
Explosion is also very foreign-friendly, often having discounts like three free drink tickets for foreigners with ID. The club has many English-speaking staff and they host travelers and expats, as well as locals, most nights of the week. In fact, the establishment claims to be home to the No. 1 international gay mix party in the city, Global Kiss. This bi-monthly event features flamboyant drag queens and shirtless go-go dancers entertaining the crowd while live DJs get everybody hyped! Global Kiss usually goes from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Explosion has events most weekends (at least!), so check the event calendar on their website or their facebook page for more info.
