Going 30 KM south from the center of Okayama, the port town Kojima has been cultivating cotton for ages, and that’s the reason why the textile industry became popular. However, unfortunately the Kojima area turned into an abandoned shopping area. But in 2010, people united again to recreate the town sure to fascinate tourists. Now, it is a symbol of its history and culture and a quirky accent to historical landscapes like the beautiful Okayama Castle and Korakuen Garden.

Shopping, eating and exploring

Divided into two areas, south and north, numerous boutiques, galleries, cafes, and restaurants make up the funky area, with jeans even hanging above your head.

Channel your inner-’90s kid and check out the main attraction: jeans. Welcome to the world of indigo-blue with stylish and high-quality jeans are sold in over 30 different stores. Each store has each unique concept, selling vintage denim, one-of-a-kind jeans, exclusives for women and even denim loungewear.
