Hirakata Park

Hirakata Park offers an abundance of retro theme park rides close to the city of Osaka. From Crazy Mouse to the wooden roller coaster, there is a range of attractions to suit everyone.

The theme park is located a stone throw away from Osaka and Kyoto by the Keihan Railway and it is one of the few popular independent theme parks left in Japan due to the competition seen from Disney and Universal Studios. A wide range of rides and entertainment options tailor to all ages, making this a perfect day out for the family. It has also recently become popular for couples wanting a fun and romantic date.

Opened in 1910, they boast to be the oldest theme park in Japan with 43 different attractions spread out over 160,000 square meters of hilly landscape. The wooden roller coaster reaches a height of just over 695 meters and their more recent addition called the Red Falcon reaches speeds of around 70 kilometers per hour.

The park also offers seasonal attractions such as an illumination event that attracts locals during the winter months. There is also a swimming pool during the summer months for those looking for some fun in the water. If you need a break from the rides, take a stroll through the Rose Garden for some peace and quiet.

For those wanting to stay right into the evening, there are plenty of restaurant options to keep you feeling full for the day. Recognisable options such as McDonald’s and Dippin’ Dots to themed restaurants such as the Magical Lagoon Kitchen offers a variety of dishes to satisfy everyone.

Before you go

The theme park offers all the amenities you might find in other larger complexes. Disabled access, first aid stations, and storage lockers are available. If you need extra cash, ATMs are also located across the park.

Visitors have the option to either pay for entrance and an All Access Pass which includes unlimited access to all of the rides, or just the entrance fee and pay for the rides separately in the park. See prices below.
